GAP LABS

GAP Labs fosters close collaboration across multiple disciplines to come up with innovative solutions for the problems and challenges faced by the GAP Changemakers. This is done through research, experiments, field action and knowledge sharing to eradicate poverty with Changemakers as active partners.
GAP has partnered with many academic institutions around the globe and through GAP Labs, Changemakers can get in touch with these institutions.

Lab Engagements

Imperial College Business School, London

  • Imperial College, London engages students to develop their social enterprise or social change ideas for example recently Gandhi Centre for Inclusive Innovation (GCII) and Global Action on Poverty (GAP) jointly hosted the ‘Ideas to Impact’ (i2i) Challenge, bringing together UK university student teams to present their innovative ideas to solve some of the big global challenges we face in society, to positively impact one million people.
  • It encourages students to participate in internships with GAP Changemakers and/or GAP.

SPJIMR (S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research)

The SPJIMR institute is keen to develop capability of CMs in the areas of impact assessment

Tata Institute Social Science (TISS), Mumbai

Apart from providing innovative solutions, GAP Labs@TISS engages student volunteers, CSR funding, research fellowships to students in development sector. TISS also plays a pivotal role in District Engagement Network (DEN) in Osmanabad initiated by GAP where Changemakers get active ground support from local communities who GAP has partnered with.

Changemaker’s challenge could range from how to engage and involve better with community, how to run successful community campaigns, how to deal with challenges faced by government policies. Research activity that include models, NGO contacts, policies and domain specific, research which will be customised based on the Changemaker’s needs.

Trans-Disciplinary University (TDU), Bangalore

At TDU, GAP Labs is a knowledge and research partner in healthcare and water.

Zuyd University, Netherlands

Zuyd University focuses on creating solutions that address the Changemakers in enhancing health of communities in urban slums. It  create experiments, adapt and find innovate solutions for the local needs of CMs.

It encourages student internships with Changemakers to understand, improve and innovate their process, solutions and strategic models.
