Who is it for ?

The GAP Intensive program is for individuals or organizations that have a deep commitment to alleviating poverty and are impassioned about bringing positive change in India and globally. You want to increase the impact of your initiative’s strengthen your personal and organization’s capabilities and become part of a larger network of mentors, investors, corporates and like-minded social entrepreneurs.

We have certain minimum eligibility criteria for the applicant Changemakers:

 

  1.  You must be the head/founder of an NGO or Social Enterprise
  2.  Your NGO/Social Enterprise has been operational for at least 2 years (we are not an accelerator program for early-stage concepts)
  3. You must have registrations like 12A, 80G, FCRA or registration under Section 8 Company Act
  4. You have at least 1 year of financial statements and budgets
  5.  You are willing to commit time, energy and resources over the duration of the program, and are willing to engage enthusiastically with mentors, business leaders, investors and other partners during the Intensive journey
  6. You have support within the organization to work on the GAP Intensive with you, especially during the days when you are attending the Foundation Workshop or other sessions.
  7. Willingness to upgrade and improve the organizational strategy and plan through the GAP Intensive
  8. Ability to deploy tools to measure the impact of the initiative
  9. Willingness for personal leadership development to optimize the capabilities of the team, partners and connections and being open to change
  10. Willingness to attend the GAP Annual Event, planned for 1 – 3 Feb 2019 at the Gandhi Ashram, Ahmedabad to meet your Corporate Change Leader

How is the GAP Intensive program structured?

The GAP Intensive Program is a 14-month journey covering two key parts:

  1. A 2-month Intensive Foundation Course which prepares the Changemakers for the yearlong Intensive journey
  2. The 1-year Intensive Program with the Change team focusing on increasing the impact by at least 50%
 The GAP Intensive Foundation Course consists of:
  1. A workshop covering personal leadership and organizational development through in classroom coaching – 7 days
  2. Foundation (Mentoring) – Weekly calls with mentor for strengthening business fundamentals – 8 sessions across 8 weeks

The Core GAP Intensive 12-Month Program

  1. Working with dedicated Intensive Leader  to define growth strategy, develop the implementation plan and identify partners for growth – 3 months
  2. Support from Change team in implementation of growth plan, leveraging networks and connections and improving funding readiness – 9 months
  3. Regular monthly/quarterly reviews and an impact assessment at the end of 1 year.

What is the Foundation Course?

The Foundation course is an integral part of the GAP Intensive program. The course will:

  1. Expand your leadership capabilities, develop powerful perspectives towards your life and goals
  2. Equip you with the right frameworks to crystallize your organization’s mission & strategy, build your organization model and plan for the future
  3. Coach you towards being ‘funding ready’ – how to present/pitch to investors and define organization’s objectives/programs/structure in an impactful manner
  4. Enable you to discover your Life Purpose, and align it with your work and life
  5. Bring forth a new paradigm of living and professional action

Of the 14 months the first 2 months of the GAP Intensive has been designed as a transformative process and works at:

 

  1. Understanding of concepts such as budgeting, financial planning and management, organization structure and development, impact assessment etc.
  2. Impactful mentoring from business mentors – these are experienced business leaders who bring their deep experience and knowledge to guide you through eight weeks of personalized mentoring
  3. The Foundation course has been designed as a learning program – you will be applying the concepts and tools to your organization to identify areas that need to be strengthened
  4. Great clarity in communicating your organization’s objectives, internally and externally
  5. A personal transformation of your life, powerful relationships at work and home, clarity about life and intentions for the future
  6. The Purpose of your Life and how it aligns with your current world

Benefits of the Core Intensive Journey

  1. The program prepares a Changemaker to amplify the impact that they can deliver, strengthen their ability to devise growth plans, and deliver successful outcomes through a Foundation Course
  2. It provides access to a GAP ‘Change Leader’ (a Business Executive), an Expert and the GAP team, who work with the Changemaker and support them throughout the 12-month journey.
  3. Every Changemaker gains mileage and momentum from the experience and connections of professionals, partners and the larger GAP network of experienced business and social sector experts
  4. A large part of the program entails learning and applying social and business principles of ideation, solutioning, delivery models, resource planning, financial planning/management, impact measurement and making impactful pitches as well as implementing growth strategies.

Change Leaders

A GAP Change leader is a corporate leader and co-owns the project along with the Changemaker to bring 50 to 100% increase in the impact and connects GAP and outside world to the Changemaker to allow for cross pollination of ideas.

The Change leader defines the rule s of engagement and on-boards a Change Catalyst for actioning the Changemakers plan. The Change Leader, with support from GAP onboards Coaches, Experts, Mentors and partners from time to time to ensure that the impact takes place at an accelerated pace. In addition to this, he/she ensures proper measurement of outcome and impact throughout the year.

Intensive Expert Partner

The GAP Intensive Expert Partner is on boarded from the GAP community. The Expert partner provides specific expertise virtually or physically and implements it alongside the Changemaker. The purpose of providing the expert support the Changemaker is to bring more clarity and focus needed to accelerate impact.

GAP Energizer

Internal team members of GAP who will energize each of the Intensive Teams every month and develop all the other activities to ensure that the Impact Goal is achieved. The Energizer also ensures to troubleshoot, reviews progress and is the point of contact for the Change Leader and Change Catalyst.
