Mr. Devashis Dubey delivered the session on the most imperative and useful topic for the organizations in the non-profit space; “Avenues of Funding”. He began the talk by clearly setting the goals of the session which included Developing Understanding about effective methods of raising money for non-profits, sharing knowledge and real-life experiences that others can use to increase their fundraising success, and laying the groundwork for success- a clear fundraising plan and providing the practical tools to make the plan a reality. In addition to this, he shared the important things an organization needs to have in place before starting fundraising. He also explained the role and primary responsibilities of board members in fundraising. In this process he highlighted the three-point success formula for the success of board fundraising: Make it Clear, Make it easy and Make it Fun.

Explaining about Avenues of fundraising, he pointed out the major avenues of funds; Corporate CSR, Foundations, Individual Fundraising from the masses, philanthropic donations, and crowd funding agencies. He reiterated that it is important to have a powerful board in the NGO that can lead to good connections and potential funds. With reference to corporate CSR funds, he talked about the ideal time to submit the proposal for funds and how scrutiny is done by CSR bodies.

In the concluding segment, he explained the importance of assessing strengths and weakness of fundraising strategies of organization before implementation.
